Paula and I arrived at St. Patrick’s Church and right away we noticed the bright pink piece of paper. “Courv and Litch are getting hitched!” was the title of Erin and Mike’s wedding weekend welcome newsletter. Paula and I chuckled because it was so them as a couple and it screamed coolness... Courv and Litch... cooler than cool :)

(...that would of never worked for Paula and I at our wedding, it would have been something like “Lab and Dun are getting it done!”...just doesn’t have that same feel, ya know? LOL!)

We’ve known Erin and Mike almost two years now. We shot a test pre-wedding in Springfield, MA and the real one, near Worcester, MA. During the summer of ’08 Paula and I actually had the unique opportunity to hang out with them at the Cape while shooting Erin’s sister’s wedding. By the time Courv and Litch got hitched it felt like old home week. We knew everybody! Lot’s of hugs to go around and we like that :)

It was so hard to pick, but here are some of our favorite images from their weekend!

Erin and Mike, looking back, isn’t it crazy how it all played out? It was quite the ride to say the very least :) We feel like we’ve trekked all over the United States with you guys LOL!

On a serious note....we think the world of you and truly enjoyed our time together. We feel blessed knowing we are friends.

Kady & Allen

Kady and Allen tied the knot at Sugar Hill Farm in Chresterfield, MA. It just so happens the beautifully manicured farm resting on the scenic hill is Kady’s grandparents :) And to top it all off her grandfather, Bob is a justice and her grandmother, Nan is a event planner!

As a venue and team you would have to combine, Martha Stuart, Ty Pennington, Universal Studios and Little House On the Prairie, all into one to equal just one Sugar Hill Farm wedding :) Paula and I were blown away by this “best kept secret” of Western Massachusetts!

Nan and Bob have a sun porch where the light even and bright. When Paula and I find a spot like this one for formals, it’s like we hit the jackpot! Kady looked amazing!

Lola and Yodi were dressed in their fine wedding attire :) You have to love Yodi’s tux! Are you sticking your tongue out at me Lola?

Since the beginning of time, the Belden family, has had a Red Sox vs Yankees rivalry between the grandparents and the rest of the family. Mr B is shown here sporting a Yankees batting helmet unbeknownst to the rest of his siblings :) It was well thought out and he pulled it off! Too funny :)

Paula and I were like kids in a candy store during formals. Having extra time between cocktails and the reception we took advantage of the rolling hills, cow paths and wild flowers on the property. The results were priceless!

Bob wheeled out the old Ford tractor in hopes we would use it in the photos. Even decked out in a tux Allen was in element!

The tall grass provided dramatic bridal imagery. The sun flare provided the soft image and Kady made it perfection.

We experimented with antique tones and textures for a lot of the formal images :) We absolutely love this shot!

Paula and I would like to thank Nan and Bob for their kind and generous hospitality. We especially loved the tour, history and stories that went along with it. Thank you for for giving us the creative freedom and run of the property :)

Jeannie, Bill, and Mr. & Mrs. B, you guys are too much! We will always remember the Yankees tissue box and batting helmet... it is forever etched in stone ;)

Kady and Allen’s crew, we had a blast! We especially loved the campfire banter and the taco dip that never cooked :) Oh, and Wayne, we didn’t recognize you without turnout gear!

Lola and Yodi, our camera bag is finally back to normal :) Thank you for your gift... it was almost the gift that kept on giving!

Kady and Allen, Paula and I feel incredibly lucky to have been at your wedding! To be able to capture those “first” moments was a honor we’ll never forget. We are proud to call you friends.

P.S. We want our Sizzlers medium rare with caramelized onion and mushrooms, with mashed potato and broccoli hollandaise.

Paula and I first met David at Kristin and Nick’s wedding this past spring. Their wedding was awesome and the folks who attended were so fun to be around. Their wedding party was a cast of characters and it was a day we’ll never forget. David is Nick’s best friend and was his best man. After knowing David a little while we could see why. I can’t remember the last time Paula and I took to someone so quickly. His charisma, charm, wit and humor never ceases to amaze us. We’re always on Facebook wondering what he’ll type next! He’s the kind of guy who makes you feel like a million bucks when you’re down and feeling like three cents :)

So, when David gave the thumbs up to come out to Boston for a lifestyle/pre-wedding session we were SO EXCITED! Paula and I were actually kind of nervous. Being new to civil unions, he and Scott walked us through our first gay photo session and we had the greatest time :)

David and Scott, we so wish we had more time with you two, the day flew by and we had so much fun! Thank god you turned the water on LOL! Paula and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts and we wish you the best :)

Katie & Ben | Amee Farm - Pittsfield, VT

Anytime we have the opportunity to shoot a wedding up north it’s a real treat, but when you have a couple like Katie and Ben, and a new venue, Amee Farm in Pittsfield Vermont, we knew the combination of two would result in an incredible wedding weekend!

When planning a destination wedding there’s so much more correspondence between the couple and vendors. The lack of physically being there to discuss your plans is sometimes difficult, and probably a little harrowing for the all involved :) BUT, through emails, phone calls, texts, online galleries, social networking sites, you begin to develop a relationship without even meeting the couple. It’s based on reputation and trust. Over the course of the year we planned everything about Katie and Ben’s photography needs without having to meet.

There was so much excitement of meeting them for the first time on rehearsal day. We had so much to do! With a good plan in place though, it almost seemed effortless. Paula and I sat with Katie and Ben and double checked the timeline and shortly after shot a pre-wedding session at Riverside Farm. We even received a sneak peek of their wedding dance in the lower reception area of Amee Farm!

Rehearsal is always special in Pittsfield Vermont, because shortly after the big wedding day walk through, it turns into a meet and greet, with all kinds of incredible food, cold local microbrew beer and wine, local music and a campfire. The best part? Smores are always rolled out just before dark!

Katie and Ben’s welcome night was extra special. Their friends and family participated in a talent show! The highlight you ask.....the groom-to-be and his death-defying grape throw and catch performance! He was nothing short of incredible :)

The light in the upper loft of Amee Farm was incredible, it made the 50 and 85mm lens images pop!

This may have to be our favorite shot of the whole wedding. The excitement and joy on Katie and her dad’s face brings a tear :)

Katie and Ben, we feel sad that our time together is coming to a close. Paula and I feel like we’ve known your forever :) Thank you for all your kind words and photo inspiration! Would we do it again? You know it!

It was a patriotic wedding on the fourth of July, Travis was decked out in his Navy whites and the excitement of Abby’s big day was just beginning to take off like a rocket :) We met with our couple just before the reception and captured everyone getting ready, while gathering in the front yard. The formals began and there was lots of laughs! Abby looked incredibly beautiful and Travis as sharp as a tack.

One of the highlights of their day was the super special ride in a Oldsmobile 442, bright red and restored. It took them to the reception and the image of Abby’s veil blowing in the 1970’s convertible was unforgettable!

The whole day we thought what an honor it was to be photographing a serviceman’s wedding on one the most important days in United States history. If we didn’t say it before, thank you Travis!
